Babylon 5: The Palladium Project

        Welcome!

View this page in a printable format.

You have found the home of Babylon 5: The Palladium Project, one of my ongoing projects with role-playing games.

For those of you who have looked at, bought, or played 'The Babylon Project', you may have been dissatisfied with the rules as they are presented. You may also have been dissatisfied with the layout, presentation of information, and the lack of real hard information on character creation. I can't help you there. At least not yet. This project is an attempt to transport the world of Babylon 5 into the game universe of palladium books, using their game system. For those of you unfamiliar with palladium books, they have created such RPGs as Robotech, Rifts, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and Other Strangeness), Ninjas & Superspies, Heroes Unlimted, Beyond the Supernatural, and many more.

Characters in the Babylon Five universe are somewhat weaker than characters from other universes, such as Rifts. This is in keeping with the general level of play in B5, which is to say, lower key. To conform with this, some of the rules such as combat are just replaced, while others, such as character creation are just modified. If you do not own any palladium books, I'm afraid this conversion won't do you much good, because I can't very well re-print entire passages of their books here. For those of you willing to delve into Palladium universe and spend 20 or so dollars on a book, TMNT and Other Strangeness, Robotech, Robotech II: Sentinels, and Rifts all have complete rules, and are along the same genre. I suggest finding a book you might also like to use as a game world in itself. If you wish for a well-rounded book, go for Rifts. Even though the book costs about $25 dollars (as opposed to $18 for most of the others) , it includes comprehensive rules on psychics, magic and technology for those who are interested.

So, the boldface ones, and the ones with buttons are what I've managed to get posted so far. The outline below also shows what I will get up sooner or later. (Most likely later... :)
